Why is Doggy Daycare so important?

Like humans, dogs also need regular physical activity to stay fit and healthy. The amount of exercise your dog needs depends on many factors and differs from dog to dog. It’s advised that most dogs should exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes every day, but the range for the recommended exercise is between 30 minutes to two hours.

A lot of the time, destruction to your furniture and garden is the result of a bored dog. Dogs require mental stimulation as well as physical activity to keep them fit and happy.

Doggy Daycare not only gives dogs a social outlet to interact with other dogs, it also meets their needs for mental and physical stimulation.  Dogs who regularly attend Doggy Daycare often suffer from less anxiety, develop good social skills, and best of all, they get to have fun.

Puppies can join Doggy Daycare once they have had all 3 puppy vaccinations, and we recommend puppies start with 1 or 2 half days a week to ensure they don’t become overstimulated and overtired, as this can cause a negative impact on their training.  However, for those with work commitments who require whole day care, we have day beds for dogs who need a lunchtime nap between play time.

When looking for a Doggy Daycare for your dog, there are a few things to consider. Besides location, open hours and cost, you want to find a facility that allows inspections prior, that has a safe area for dogs to play and room to separate dogs should they need some time out from group play.  It is also wise to check that the business is registered, insured and staff are adequately trained.
